Prof. Dr. Achim Rogmann

Prof. Dr. iur. Achim Rogmann LLM took his law exams after studying at University of Münster. He retired in spring 2025 after 25 years of teaching and research as a professor of European and international economic law. At the Brunswick European Law School (BELS) in Wolfenbüttel, Germany, he was responsible for customs and foreign trade law, and also served as Dean International. This was preceded by a decade of professional experience in the German customs administration. He now works as an independent customs consultant and is a member of the Institute for Customs and International Trade Law (ICTL) at the University of Münster. He is also a visiting professor at this University, teaching on the interdisciplinary Master’s program in Customs, Tax and Foreign Trade Law. Having completed a Master of Laws (LLM) at Murdoch University in Western Australia on the topic of regional integration in the trans-Tasman region, he has also been an adjunct professor at the Murdoch School of Law.

His research focuses on international customs law and its implications for European customs and foreign trade law. He has published extensively in these areas. Prof. Rogmann is a member of the editorial board of the journal “Außenwirtschaftliche Praxis”, the Scientific Council of the “Doradztwo Podatkowe Bulletin” published by the Institute of Tax Studies in Warsaw, Poland, and the Academic Board of the European Forum for Foreign Trade (EFA). He is also a member of the Academia Internacional de Derecho Aduanero (International Academy of Customs Law) in Mexico City.
